Intercollegiate Lacrosse
The same year as lacrosse was first played in the Olympics (1904), the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse League is formed. A committee formed of Laurie D. Cox, William C. Schmeisser and Charles Lattig decide on how college lacrosse will be run and divide colleges into northern and southern divisions. Men's college lacrosse allied with the NCAA in 1971. The first NCAA women's game was played in 1982.
